Great shot and composition.  The lighting reminds me of 70's thrillers.

It's simple, models a number of classic films, looks real, and is disturbing despite minimal gore. I really fucking like it. In my opinion there's too much blood in the horror/macabre section of da.

I really like this. I am glad that it is in black and white. I don't think that it would look as good in color... good job. :)

Congrats on the DD....

Women usually don't want their faces messed up by death,
perhaps someone found her and turned her around
because seeing her dead was more then they/he/she could bear....

Whatever scene transpired in the photogrpahers mind, it is an
awesome shot....and that is what great photography does,
it invites us into a story...

This kind of induindo hints at people who might be deppressed, and I do NOT aprove of it, its sick that your fancy of fame in wanting to be noticed as a photographer is corrupted by this.
The little things count so big.
four people in my town tried to kill themselves last year, one did.
They were all artists.
This is shit. Delete it.

You obviously have not seen other horror/macabre category art that have gotten DDs.
It's not like this artist put this under the humorous category, after all.

good thing nobody's seeking YOUR approval then. It's art, I think its a great shot, its very sad and extremely unfortunate. If art didn't make people mad sometimes then it wouldn't be very good art.

You will never understand until it realy will happen.

It will no longer be art.

It will be your deepest regret for inciteing it. Then agian, you'll never know who it affects.

The thing is - everyone reacts to tragedy in different ways. Instead of viewing this as something distasteful - it could actually influence folks to pay MORE attention to those who are in a dark place.

The point is - this is deviant art. Not bland art. And everyone is welcome here - regardless of what we all personally feel is art.

I hope you don't take offense to that - truth be told, this one made my stomach twist - but who am I to tell someone else what constitutes as a VALID form of art?

Art has no right or wrong.
It has no rules - other than to express or convey a though. And sometimes - those thoughts can be unpleasant. Or thought provoking.

It sure got us all talking didn't it? ;)
cheers luv. I am sorry your town has had to go through such awful circumstances.

What makes you think that I haven't ever been affected by a suicide? I'm just not so narrow minded to condemn a photograph that was so obviously taken to portray that terrible idea. It is beautifully executed.

Keep up the good work!

I agree with you and your response to that last one. Art sparks emotion. Clearly this is art then, isn't it? It seems to depict life: death being a part of life. And one should also be open-minded enough to realise that you're only limited by your interpretation of the particular piece...

I think it's well executed. And the faded right arm gives a ghostly feel. If anyone is scared, just think about the old "Psycho" movie where it was shot in b/w and what many people don't know is that they used chocolate milk at one point for the blood. lol. Relax everyone, it's just art. :-)
